Decorative, self-adhesive, and inexpensive, the peel and stick wallpaper is a versatile solution for various surfaces. It can be used on cabinets, cupboard doors, countertops, tables, desktops, backsplashes, shelves, walls, counters, table tops, nightstands, wardrobes, accent walls, dresser drawers, closets, TV stands, vanities, and even for crafts, book covers, bulletin boards, desk covers, doors, and windows.
The applications are endless, spanning across different rooms and settings, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, college dorms, farmhouses, industrial spaces, playrooms, cabins, cubicles, lake houses, laundry rooms, entryways, and offices.
To install the peel and stick wallpaper, follow these steps:
Prepare the surface: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease. If the surface is rough or uneven, sand it down to create a smooth and level base.
Measure and cut: Measure the length and width of the surface to be covered. If the shape is complex, sketch a rough outline and note the measurements for each part.
Apply the peel and stick: Smooth the wallpaper flat and ensure it fits the surface properly. Peel back the backing paper, exposing about 1/4 inch of the wallpaper, and press it against the surface. Slowly work from one corner to the other, removing more backing paper as you go.
Smooth and trim: Gently pull the remaining backing paper, taking your time to keep the paper smooth and expel any air bubbles. If wrinkles or bubbles occur, gently tear the wallpaper and try again. Trim off any excess wallpaper.
The wallpaper is 15.8 inches wide, so if the surface to be covered is wider, simply overlap the edges to ensure complete coverage. The seam will be virtually invisible.
In the event of stubborn wrinkles or bubbles, you can use a small pin to poke the bubble and smooth it down from the edge towards the hole.
If the wall is textured, consider sanding it down to a smooth, dust-free surface before applying the wallpaper. Alternatively, you can spray a 3M adhesive or liquid paste to fill in the gaps and low spots, ensuring a better adhesion.
With the right preparation and care during installation, the peel and stick wallpaper can transform a variety of surfaces, from kitchens and bathrooms to living rooms and offices, with a touch of decorative flair and a hassle-free application.
